Kurt Cobain (CE 7)

Berman, Judy. "Flavorwire." Flavorwire. N.p., 02 Apr. 2012. Web. 06 Apr. 2014. (http://flavorwire.com/275109/photo-gallery-the-last-days of-kurt-cobain/)

This passage is about twenty years since the death of Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of the awesomeness of a band, Nirvana. He died on April 5th, 1994 and has been missed every year since.

The text supports the author by stating known information about his death. For example: the year he died and where he was when he committed suicide. The article also provides the reader with information about his wife, Courtney Love, and his daughter, Frances Bean.

The point of view from my perspective is just an article explaining the life of Kurt Cobain up to his suicide. This article also includes background information on the rest of the 90’s without him and Kurt Cobain’s family.

The whole point of this article is to inform people that it has been twenty years since Kurt Cobain's death. He was an awesome guitarist, singer, and overall great person that died too young.

Missing Jet (CE 6)

"Disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Begins to Demand Supernatural Explanations." Eye Opening Info RSS. N.p., 11 Mar. 2014. Web. 23 Mar. 2014 <http://www.eyeopening.info/2014/03/11/disappearance-of-malaysia-airlines-flight-370-begins-demand-supernatural-explanations/#.Uy-2w_ldVrA>.

This passage is about the missing Malaysia plane, Flight 370. The plane was neither crashed or hijacked, yet somehow disappeared over seas in the middle of nowhere. The last words to be said by either pilot was, "All right, good night". authorities have checked both pilots and haven't found one thing linked to terrorism.

The text supports the author by stating information from actual references. One reference is from the calls made to the plane. For example, the lasts words ever heard from the plane.

From my perspective I believe that the plane may have gotten off course and got lost in the process. Therefore, in time I think we will find the missing plane with no killed or wounded citizens of the plane.  Just got to stay optimistic of the situation, people are searching 24/7 looking for the plane.

The whole point of this article is to inform people about the missing airline. During the article the author gives descriptive, brief, and informational summaries about any known or recent pieces of evidence to find the missing plane.

Illusionist People-Painter (CE 5)

Angley, Natalie."People-painter Turns Tables on Illusion."CNN,06Mar.2014.Web.10 Mar.2014. (http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/06/tech/web/artist-painting-alexa-meade/).
This passage is about a California artist by the name of Alexa Meade. This artist is best known for or her expertise is that puts people in art. She describes it as "taking a picture of art, but you're in it". What she does is, paint a body to fit into a painting. She doesn't worry about the canvas, she worries about placing what the commissioner wants into the necessary background.

The text supports the author by stating information from actual references from the artist. For example, “ physically paints on human subjects -- on their clothes, their shoes, their skin, their hair. Then she places them in a real-life setting and photographs it.”, there is evidence that proves that is true. The author also uses extreme details while writing the article, due to the video describing the artists unique techniques.

From my perspective she takes the idea of average optical illusions and warped it into something new and exciting. She states, "I like for my work to create this living element." By saying this she is doing as she pleases to the idea of illusions. I think it is not only inspiring, but groundbreaking, which is good.

The whole point of this article is to inform people about the artist. During the article the author gives descriptive, brief, and informational summaries about this newly found artist. It also showcases how she uses her own creative, and her sui generis art style.

Beatles Reunite (CE4)

superfluidmessdreams.N.p.Web.24Feb2014 <http://superfluidmessdreams.deviantart.com/art/Wallpaper-The-Beatles-211797918>.

The central idea of the passage is about Paul McCartney and Richard Starkey reuniting for the Grammys. It’s developed throughout the passage with history of the band, starting with the spark of the British Invasion. The British Invasion was a big part of rock and roll that changed music forever. It started with incredible bands, like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

The author supports his claim by telling history of the band, including the members that have died and past concerts where they both recently performed together. For example, they both played a concert to celebrate Richard’s 70th birthday in 2010 and played at the Grammys for the 50th anniversary of The Beatles.

The structure of this article supports the author’s claim by putting the article in cause and effect. For example, The British Invasion caused the The Beatles, that caused the Anniversary, and so on.

The author’s point of view is all about the detail, but also getting straight to the point. It impacts it by giving a galore of information in only roughly, half a page. It also gives the neat fact that Ringo was honored the Lifetime of Peace and Love Award by the Lynch Foundation.

The author used statistics or a large amount of factual data to show how The Beatles have changed the way people look at rock and roll. They were one of the first ever rock and roll bands, and statistics show that they are the greatest rock and roll band in history.

The author uses a very informative but nondescript way of writing in this article. He states only facts, such as “If McCartney and Starr do perform together, it will be the first time the two have played together since a 2010 concert to celebrate Starr's 70th birthday in July 2010.”

The main element of the story is facts. Facts are used, in this article, to show how awesome The Beatles were and still are. The author uses the fact of their #1 hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, which I think is an amazing song.

Eternal Albums (CE 3)

"A Jewel from the Prince “Purple Rain” Bonus DVD."PRINTMATICNET. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Feb.2014.

This passage is about twenty albums that are still around to this day. Most of these you'll know, however, I know all of them because classic stuff is my thing. Some artists became famous for these albums and are known for them to this day.

The text supports the author by stating information from actual references from the albums. For example, “ 20 Grammy winning albums”, there is evidence that proves that’s true. The author uses facts about each album, the date when released, and date the Grammy was given to prove that these albums are no joke.

The point of view from my perspective is that the artists that create these masterpieces are true geniuses. Michael Jackson's "Thriller", Prince's "Purple Rain", and even Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" are all fantastic pieces of work. I don't know how they do it, but they  all deserved the Grammy given and probably should get another one.

The whole point of this article is to inform people about the albums shown. For example, the artist who won the Grammy for that and what each artist was awarded for. Stevie Wonder was awarded for "best pop vocal, performance, and album of the year". Out of all of the albums given I would have chose Micheal Jackson's "Thriller", however, Prince was in there. So he wins by default.

Johnny Cash (CE 1)

Wikipedia." Simpsons Wiki. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Feb. 2014.

This passage is the untold story of Johnny Cash, or by his actual name, J.R. Cash. It’s tells about his music, his friends, his life, and what he is considered. In the passage it states that “he was a champion hotel room destroyer”, I just thought it was a neat fact and also it showed how awesome he is.

The text supports the author by stating factual information from actual references in his life. For example, “ he and Elvis Presley had the same manager”, that is evidence that proves that’s true. The author uses evidence to support his article from family interviews and just known fun facts.

The point of view from my perspective is Johnny Cash is overall a renegade. From the authors view, I think he was just making statements to give information to people that didn't know what Johnny Cash really did or was really about.

The whole point of this article is to tell people fun facts about Johnny Cash. For example, what his inspiration was, outside life, family, and all his success. I would like to point out one thing though, Johnny Cash is not country. He is an old time rock and roll guy and that is awesome.
